WIDE GOOSE eggs
Goose eggs at E.S.T.D.F., have been categorized according to quality, shape, and size.
WIDE: Girth is wider than usual and the shape is rounded as compared to a regular goose egg. (see pic). Available in medium, large, XL & XXL
- LENGTH MAY BE SLIGHTLY SHORTER IN X-WIDE, TAKEN UP BY THE LARGER GIRTH.
SIZE:
MEDIUM: approx., 3+" = 7.62 cm.
LARGE: approx., 3.50+" = 8.89 cm.
XL: approx., 3.65 -3.85" = 9.27- 9.78cm
XXL: approx., 3.90" & up. = 9.91cm & up.
- Ideal uses pysanky, etching, dying, carving, painting, decoupage, and other crafts.
- The shells are the least porous of all eggshells. Can be slightly resistant to dyes. Very usable in its natural state.
- HELPFUL TIP: If dyes are not absorbing as expected, there are three options to help solve this matter.
- Wet sanding preparation.
- Etching in vinegar for a smoother absorbent surface. Timing is key! (plug the drain hole before saturating in the vinegar).
- An assertive scrubbing with a coarse brush or brillo pad.
- Any stains on the shell will not affect dyes, dying processes, or designs and will disappear during the dying process.
- For OTHER crafts, no sanding or etching is required.

- Each item has been weighed and calculated with shipping material included. Fact: A small egg may weigh very little, but the packing material and the box make up the difference. What you need to know...
All eggshells are candled against cracks and other defects. Guaranteed structurally sound.
Eggshells have one small drilled hole, centred, on the wide end bottom, blown out, washed (no harsh chemicals) & rinsed inside and outside of the shell. Eggshells are air-dried. The cleaning process will not affect dyes or other materials
- Remove all wraps after receiving your package and inspect all the eggshells.
- PLEASE BE SURE TO ALLOW 24 -48 hours in house temperature before use.
