  • Description: White duck eggs with the cuticle intact. Very smooth velvety shells.
  • Size: approx., 2.5-3" = (6.35-7.62 cm) height. (measured from centre top to centre bottom).
  • The egg's bloom/cuticle must be intact to absorb dyes. If duck eggs are over-cleaned the bloom will be rubbed off.
  • Any stains or uneven appearance will fade away during the dying process*. If etching, the egg can be cleaned after completion.
  • Uses: Ideal for etching, and dyes and used for painting with acrylics, beading, covering with paper, fabric, jewels, stickers, collages, decoupage, markers or just about anything that can be glued on.

    • Packages are shipped expidited (insured) via Canada Post.
    • Buyer pays to ship. All taxes are included in prices and shipping.

    • Each item has been weighed and calculated with shipping material included. A small egg may weigh very little, but the packing material and the box make up the difference.   An ostrich egg without packing material weighs 0.325+ kg or 0.72+ LBS. (proven in the INTRODUCTION box at the top of the store page).

  • Safety

    Precaution:  wear protective gear - respirator mask, eye goggles, rubber gloves & apron when sanding, cutting, carving, scratching, drilling holes, or etching eggshells.  Lack of safety may result in bodily injuries or respiratory illness.                                                   
     

  • What you need to know...

    All eggshells are candled against cracks and other defects. Guaranteed structurally sound.

    Eggshells have one small drilled hole, centred, on the wide end bottom, blown out, washed (no harsh chemicals) & rinsed inside and outside of the shell.  Eggshells are air-dried. The cleaning process will not affect dyes or other materials

    • Remove all wraps after receiving your package and inspect all the eggshells.  
    • PLEASE BE SURE TO ALLOW 24 -48 hours in house temperature before use.
